1) Embed a good journalistic audio slideshow in a post on the class blog.
2) Read Nieman Journalism Lab’s Week in Review. (Note: As we’ll be moving into web production/tools soon, this weekly review, published Friday a.m., will be a standing requirement for the rest of the semester.) Be prepared to discuss the differences in Apple’s new mobile subscription service and Google’s One Pass. Be sure also to read Dan Nguyen’s post about data journalism (linked to from the WiR).
3) Reminder that the revision of your first project is due to me by 5 p.m. CST on Monday, February 21. E-mail me stories and zip file of SoundSlides projects. Embed in the class blog Vimeo/YouTube videos.
4) Don’t forget to bring to next Thursday’s class these three things: 1) 30-60 seconds of narration you recorded last week, 2) the song you chose to layer in and behind the narration, 3) headphones.
5) Project journals due before class next week.
